Uses

Cefix 100mg/5ml is used for:

• Urinary tract infections
• Throat, tonsil and ear infections

Dosage

Adults usually take 400 mg daily, as one dose or 200 mg twice daily, for 7–14 days depending on the infection. Children’s doses are 8 mg/kg daily, given as suspension in one or two doses.

How to Use

Take with or without food. Shake the suspension well and measure with the supplied spoon or syringe.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If the next dose is due soon, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

If you take too much, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away.

When Not to Use

• Allergy to cefixime or other cephalosporins
• Previous severe allergic reaction to penicillins
