Uses

Nezkil 100mg/5ml is used for:

• Pneumonia caused by resistant Gram-positive bacteria
• Complicated skin and soft tissue infections including MRSA
• Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE) infections

Dosage

The usual adult dose is 600 mg every 12 hours for 10–14 days (up to 28 days for some infections). Children’s doses are based on body weight.

How to Use

Shake the bottle well and measure each dose with the cup or oral syringe supplied, not a household spoon. Avoid large amounts of tyramine-rich foods such as aged cheese, preserved or processed meats and soy sauce.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If the next dose is due soon, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

If you take too much, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away.

When Not to Use

• Taking an MAO inhibitor now or within 14 days
• Uncontrolled high blood pressure, phaeochromocytoma or overactive thyroid, unless monitored
• Allergy to linezolid

• Change in taste
• Thrush

Seek urgent help for vision changes, numbness or tingling, unusual bleeding or bruising, severe diarrhoea, or fast breathing.
