Dosage

Adults usually take 320 mg once daily for 5 days (bronchitis) or 5–7 days (pneumonia). Lower doses are used in kidney disease.

How to Use

Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water, with or without food. Take it at least 3 hours before or 2 hours after antacids, iron or zinc. Drink plenty of fluids.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose when you remember. If the next dose is due soon, skip the missed one. Do not take a double dose.

Overdose

An overdose may cause dizziness, confusion and heart rhythm changes. Seek medical help.

When Not to Use

• Allergy to quinolone antibiotics
• History of tendon problems with quinolones
• Known QT prolongation
• Children and adolescents under 18

• Use with care in epilepsy and myasthenia gravis
