Rifaxa 550mg is used for:

Dosage

Travellers’ diarrhoea: 200 mg three times daily for 3 days. Hepatic encephalopathy: 550 mg twice daily long term. IBS-D: 550 mg three times daily for 14 days.

How to Use

Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food.

Missed Dose

Take the missed dose when you remember. If the next dose is due soon, skip the missed one. Do not take a double dose.

Overdose

If you take too much, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away.

When Not to Use

• Allergy to rifaximin or rifamycins
• Diarrhoea with fever or blood in stools
