Description

Description

Acicon 20mg is an H2-receptor antagonist medicine containing Famotidine as its active ingredient. It works by blocking histamine at H2 receptors in the stomach lining, which reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces. This helps relieve acid-related discomfort, supports healing of the stomach and intestinal lining, and helps prevent further acid-induced damage.

Ingredients

Each tablet of Acicon 20mg contains:

  • Famotidine – 20mg
  • Standard pharmaceutical excipients required for tablet formulation
Dosage Form

Acicon is available as an oral tablet, packaged in a strip of 10 tablets per box.

Uses

Acicon 20mg is used in the management of:

  • Duodenal ulcers
  • Gastric (stomach) ulcers
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Erosive esophagitis
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
  • Heartburn, acid regurgitation, and related throat discomfort caused by excess stomach acid
How to Use

Acicon tablets can generally be taken with or without food, usually as directed by your doctor, often once or twice daily depending on the condition being treated. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. If you also need to take an antacid, it is advisable to leave a gap of 30–60 minutes between the two medicines. Continue the full course as prescribed, even if symptoms improve early, and avoid alcohol or smoking during treatment, as these can reduce its effectiveness.

Side Effects

Acicon is generally well tolerated, with side effects being uncommon. Some people may experience headache, dizziness, constipation, or diarrhea. Rare but more serious effects can include palpitations, rash, or signs of worsening symptoms such as black or tarry stools. If you notice severe or unusual reactions, stop use and consult your doctor promptly.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

Acicon should be used during pregnancy only if your doctor considers it necessary after weighing potential risks and benefits. Famotidine is known to pass into breast milk, so breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before use. Self-medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not advised.

Storage Instructions

Store Acicon tablets at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Keep the strip in its original packaging until use, and store out of reach of children. Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the pack.
