Description

Description

AciReg 40mg is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) medicine containing Esomeprazole as its active ingredient. It works by targeting and inhibiting the proton pump within the stomach’s acid-producing cells, significantly reducing gastric acid secretion. This helps relieve acid-related discomfort, promotes healing of the esophagus and stomach lining, and helps prevent further acid-induced damage.

Ingredients

Each capsule of AciReg 40mg contains:

  • Esomeprazole – 40mg
  • Enteric-coated granules and standard pharmaceutical excipients required for capsule formulation
Dosage Form

AciReg is available as an oral, delayed-release capsule containing enteric-coated granules, packaged in a strip of 14 capsules per box.

Uses

AciReg 40mg is used in the management of:

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Erosive esophagitis (healing and prevention of relapse)
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
  • Stomach ulcers caused by H. pylori infection, usually combined with antibiotics
  • Prevention of ulcers linked to long-term NSAID use
  • Frequent heartburn and acid regurgitation
How to Use

AciReg capsules are usually taken once daily, ideally in the morning, at least one hour before a meal, unless your doctor advises otherwise. Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water — do not break, crush, or chew it, as this disrupts the enteric coating designed to protect the medicine until it reaches the intestine. Take it consistently at the same time each day and complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve early.

Side Effects

AciReg is generally well tolerated, though some people may experience headache, flatulence, dry mouth, abdominal pain, or diarrhea. Less commonly, nausea, decreased appetite, or skin rash may occur. Rarely, more serious reactions such as severe skin reactions, irregular heartbeat, or swelling of the face and lips have been reported. Long-term use may be linked to vitamin B12 deficiency or increased bone fracture risk. Seek medical attention if you notice severe or unusual symptoms.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

AciReg 40mg should be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if your doctor considers it clearly necessary, after weighing the potential risks and benefits. Data confirming its complete safety in these situations is limited, so it should not be self-administered. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

Storage Instructions

Store AciReg capsules at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Keep the strip in its original packaging until use, and store out of reach of children. Do not use beyond the expiry date printed on the pack.
